The overall chat experience is on par with desktop, with one major annoyance. My keyboard (Gboard) keeps reactivating/pulling up in the app. The only way I can get it to go away when in a chat is to select the three-dot option menu in the top right, then clicking out of it. If I click anywhere else in the chat or app it does close, then immediately reopens and steals focus again. Once that's fixed, I will happily update my rating to 5 stars.

It's great for editing creative writing and emails. That's about it. I tried the free trial and the picture editing became worse. The pictures are always hit or miss. The generations totally tanked. It can't even remember a picture that you made when you reference it. It stopped following simple commands. "Move this object from here to there" would be met with an entire picture change: characters and background were given complete makeovers - even when you say "change nothing else".

I started with the free version and upgraded to the pro. After 6 months ($125) I realized there are more programs that I could use too. I went back to the free version, and it's worse then when I first started. I can only upload like two pictures before it says I can't do more. maybe generate 3-5 pictures total. I'll go through like maybe 10 or so questions in a chat before it says that I need pro version to continue the chat because there's an attachment, or because it's "slower"-or start new.

Says it needs the Play Store to open. No, it needs it to be downloaded, after that it's an entirely different app. How many apps are going to be reliant on other apps to run? I hate the play store. It slows your phone significantly, uses more battery life because it's always using your CPU and resources in the background when you're not even using it. I only open to get apps. Then it's disabled. 👎

I gave this app five stars when I first started. it was absolutely perfect. it was my creative writing partner and I could write anything. things got stricter and stricter with each update but I stuck with it. I've been trying for months to get my creative writing flow back but the rules have made it impossible. I've been loyal to this app and I've used it every day for almost a year. I may need to stop paying for this. edit: and now with the removal of 4.1, it's gotten worse.
