How to Use

Galaxy Wearable is the official Samsung app to connect, manage, and monitor your Samsung wearable devices, including watches and earbuds, from your phone. (app_description)

Getting Started

Source: app_description_and_user_feedback_noted

  1. Ensure your mobile device runs Android 6.0 or higher and has Bluetooth enabled.
  2. Download and install the Galaxy Wearable app from the Google Play Store.
  3. Turn on your wearable device (watch or buds) and put it in pairing mode.
  4. Open the Galaxy Wearable app to begin scanning for nearby devices. The app will ask for Location (Android 11 or lower) or Nearby Devices (Android 12 or higher) permission to find your wearable.
  5. Select your device from the list to pair it. If you are switching from an old phone, be aware that recent user reports indicate the pairing process may force you to reset your wearable and delete all data.
  6. Once connected, follow the in-app prompts to customize settings like notifications, clock faces, and software updates.

Key Features (from app listing)

Source: app_description

  • Connect and disconnect wearable devices via Bluetooth
  • Manage software updates and clock settings for your wearable
  • Download and manage apps for your watch through Galaxy Apps
  • Use the 'Find my Watch' feature to locate your device
  • Customize notification types and settings for your wearable
Pro Tip: Before switching to a new phone, back up your watch data if possible, as multiple recent reviews confirm that the pairing process with a new device forces a factory reset, deleting all stored data.

This tip is derived from a specific complaint in recent_review #1, where the user states the app 'force[s] you to disconnect from the old device and delete all of your data in order to pair' the watch with a new phone. This is a preventative measure for a problem reported by a user.

How this content was created

Content type: pattern_analysis_of_user_reviews_and_metadata

AI generated: Yes

Data sources:
  • Google Play user reviews (12-20 preferred; may be smaller if source data is limited per app), February 22, 2026 to July 11, 2025
  • Google Play ratings distribution
  • App Store listing metadata
Limitations:
  • Review samples are not statistically representative of all user sentiment
  • Claims labeled 'low confidence' are based on single-review observations only
  • The small sample size (5 reviews) and lack of positive or mixed reviews limits the ability to identify cross-bucket patterns
  • No real-world app testing was conducted
  • Feature availability may vary by region, device, and app version

They've somehow managed the impossible and actually made things worse. I tried to connect my watch to my new phone and was met with a message saying it was no longer supported (S3 Frontier). Well, since they force you to disconnect from the old device and delete all of your data in order to pair the watch with a new one, and my old phone is broken, I now own a fancy paper weight that doesn't even function as a normal watch anymore. Thanks Samsung. The future looks great.

I just don't understand why it's so difficult to get the calendars to sync. Something so basic and there's barely any uses for events on my Ultra because the calendar is so terrible. My events are on my phone. Not on watch. sometimes tasks show up, sometimes they don't. Forget about adding Google Workspace calendars, that just sends notifications constantly to tell you to Open App but it does nothing. For $500 watch, this piece of trash feels like it's from 2005

So now, the Buds controls are accessed via phone Settings, and not the wear app anymore. So if you put the buds on and it connects to another of your devices, say a tablet , and not the phone in your hand, tough luck. You can't switch or have them reconnect because it won't show up in the settings of device in your hand. Another 'improvement' nobody asked for.

every update makes it worse. before your workouts wouldn't stay on the main screen...which why would I select to do something and then have it go back to the watch. im obviously keeping an eye on my workout....well now it stays with modes on "theater" mode stayed on for days. and that doesn't let the screen activate or turn on when you lift your arm. then I tried to take it off and it wouldn't. restart didnt help, using the phone didnt help....just annoying really.
