Uphold: Buy BTC, ETH and 300+

Do not do business with uphold. The customer service is absolutely terrible. I setup an auto payment for once a day. They kept randomly over charging me 2, and 3 times. I went ahead and canceled the payments. Uphold unlinked my bank account, and will not let me link my bank anymore. I cannot buy, sell, or move my crypto. My crypto is pretty much locked. Customer service has escalated this situation going on 10 plus times with no solution. They ignore phone calls as well.

I like the app in general, but the card feature is not good at all. a lot of transactions that I do that are either at restaurants or Costco take way more than I usually pay. The actual amount I spend is always correct as they refund the difference later on. my issue is that it can take up to 5-7 days to see that refund (of money you never spent). for example Costco gas it take around 35$ to fill. the transaction amount turns out to be 100$ , 7 days later I get the 65$ back. Bad for budgeting.

Very easy, streamlined app that simplifies cryptocurrency transactions. Many listed coins to buy. However, one thing puzzles me. When I buy altcoins, the price per coin is always higher than the current market (even when the coin price is dipping). It's like Uphold is stacking unknown fees on top. Otherwise, it does what I need it to do so far. UPDATE: It appears Uphold charges a spread during times of extreme volatility, which must be every day I execute a transaction.

They say "no fees" but the buy rates are 2.5% higher than market and sell rates are 2.5% lower than market and other apps from what I can tell. They should just be transparent. My first transaction went through, but I placed a later transaction that disappeared from my account. Rates should also auto refresh on a trade app, but they don't. Setup is quick with instant transfers.

The price listed is not the price you actually trade at. For example, the coin I wanted to purchase was listed.098, but when I went to purchase, it gave me a conversion rate .112. This is in the converse for selling. I went to see if it was the same across the spread, and it is. I went to sell, and the price I'd be selling is significantly less that what's listed. In short, you're getting less for your money on purchases and less for your money on sales. But UpHold still gets their fee cut.
