American Airlines

Absolutely the worst airline app I've used. Flight details in the app are non-existent, you have to go to the mobile website to get any info. Other apps at least link to their mobile site. Worse, the app stops working if you don't use it for a few days. The last couple trips I have had on AA I have had to uninstall and reinstall the app just to check in and get my boarding pass, even on separate legs of the same trip. AA is horrible all around as an airline, and they live down to that here.

The main thing is, it's easy to use, and not 'clunky'. I use a different system for booking my flights, but my check in, boarding passes, and flight/ gate status are done with the app. Highly recommend it to anyone that flies American regularly. Or not so regularly. Edit: Fun fact - once you've landed the app tells you the baggage claim number!

Excellent app. I travel with AA 98.75% of the time and I’ve never had any issues with it. I’m always able to login, check bags if needed, get my boarding pass(es), change my flight if necessary, select/change my seat- you get the idea. The app works perfectly fine and I haven’t encountered any glitches and I’ve been an AA customer since forever. Great app! KUDOS!!!

The latest version of the app has severe issues. Viewing account activity always yields an error message. Seat selection is grayed out around 12 hours before a flight (should be able to change until just before boarding). When you're checked in to a near-term flight and then go to look at another later reservation, there are random pop ups saying "you're already checked in, please see an agent." I didn't think it would be possible to break an app so much in a single update but they've done it.

it works very well with most things. notifications about flight delays and cancellations. it also helps rebooks you quickly without going to the counter which is fantastic because American cancels often. I've rebooked many times WAY before others because of the app. it does NOT show you past flights which is unfortunate, when you need verification of travel there is a very long and arduous process to get that.
