Can checking my credit score on the Experian app hurt my credit?
high

No, checking your FICO Score and credit report within the Experian app uses a soft inquiry, which does not affect your credit score. The app's "No Ding Decline" feature for credit card applications also means your score won't be impacted if you are not initially approved, though a hard inquiry will occur if you are approved.

Why can't I log into the Experian app?
low

Some recent users report trouble logging in, with errors like "Unspecified error" or messages about "Technical difficulties connecting to our servers." One user was unable to log in for 2 months. If you can log in on the website but not the app, this may be a specific app issue. Ensuring you have a stable connection and trying reinstalling may help, but persistent issues require contacting customer support.

Does the Experian app show reports from all three credit bureaus?
low

According to one user review, the app provides the ability to see all three credit bureaus' information in one spot. However, the app's description primarily highlights the Experian credit report and FICO Score. Full three-bureau monitoring may be available with certain paid plans.

Key Features (from app listing)

Source: app_description

  • Free Experian Credit Report and FICO Score (updated every 30 days)
  • Experian Boost to raise your score using bills you already pay
  • Credit monitoring with push notifications for score changes, new inquiries, or new accounts
  • Marketplace to compare credit cards (with 'No Ding Decline' option), personal loans, and car insurance
  • Premium features: Bill Negotiation & Subscription Cancellation, and Experian CreditLock
Pro Tip: If you encounter login errors in the app, try signing in through the Experian website first. Some users report this works even when the app fails.

Derived from a user review that states 'I can sign in to my account on the Experian website, but the app keeps giving an unspecified error.' This suggests cross-platform access as a workaround.

I dont like generating traffic for apps that provide misleading information.

WORST APP EVER!!! They don't even deserve the one star. I set up an account, told me it didn't exist. Finally got it to regonize my account. Requested the pin code via text, never came, tried multiple times. Then when I was finally able to log in a different way all it wanted to do was offer me my free credit report. If I tried to do anything else like freeze my credit it would log me out.

Experian customer service is the worst. Having said that I won't even bother trying to address my app issue with them, just deleting out of frustration. I'm suddenly unable to open the app, it's been two weeks, I've been using it for a couple of years and all of a sudden it's not working. I went through all the online troubleshooting I could find with no success. So, bye bye Experian, you make things far harder than they have to be.

Constantly getting "Unspecified error" while trying to connect to the servers. What's the point of even having this app if I can't use it? Edit: Of course I'm using Android. Why else would I leave a review on the Google Play Store? I do appreciate the update, but next time could you please make the app show a notification that your system is undergoing maintenance instead of giving an unspecified error? That would save a lot of time and bad reviews for the app.

The app was awesome when I could sign on to my account, but have not been able to for the PAST 2 MONTHS. Keep getting an unspecified error message or the message "We are having Technical difficulties connecting to our servers, please try again later." I can sign in to my account on the Experian website without any problems, but can't on the app. I tried EVERYTHING. Uninstalling the app and reinstalling, changing my password, but NOTHING works. So frustrated and Bummed.😕
