Key Features (from app listing)

Source: app_description

  • Image Search: Snap a picture of something to identify what it is and find it in the catalog.
  • Product Locator: GPS-style navigation to the exact aisle and bay of a product in a participating store.
  • Ratings & Reviews: Access customer reviews by scanning barcodes or searching products.
  • Account Management: Track orders, view purchase history, and enable instant checkout.
  • Daily Special Buys & Local Ad: View a new deal each day on the app home screen and check your local store's weekly ad.
Pro Tip: Based on user reports of slow performance and filter issues, consider using the website for complex searches or when you need reliable sorting and filtering. The app may struggle with tasks like sorting by price or using multi-color filters, which work correctly on the desktop site.

Derived from user complaints in recent_reviews #3 and #4, where reviewers specifically compare the app's broken search/filter functionality unfavorably against the website experience. Review #2 also explicitly states 'It's faster to drive to HD or just open the competition's app.'

How this content was created

Content type: pattern_analysis_of_user_reviews_and_metadata

AI generated: Yes

Data sources:
  • Google Play user reviews (5 reviews (all from recent_reviews) per app), February 13, 2026 to May 20, 2025
  • Google Play ratings distribution
  • App Store listing metadata
Limitations:
  • Review samples are not statistically representative of all user sentiment; this sample is especially limited as it contains only 5 negative reviews.
  • High-engagement negative reviews with many likes (e.g., 880 likes) can overrepresent complaints, but in this sample, all reviews are from the recent bucket and no balancing data was available.
  • Claims labeled 'low confidence' are based on single-review observations only and may not reflect common user experience.
  • No real-world app testing was conducted; all claims are derived exclusively from user-submitted review text.
  • Feature availability (like Image Search and Product Locator) may vary by region, device, and app version.
  • The app has a high overall rating (4.6 stars) per metadata, suggesting many users are satisfied, but no positive reviews were available in this sample to explain why.
  • The ratings distribution (0-5 star counts) was null, making it impossible to gauge overall sentiment from the full user base.

This app runs so slow. I use it because I can't just go to HD myself. but everytime I open this app it's just a slow ordeal. this is really the only app that I have this problem with. waiting for pages to load, sometimes they never do. most often placing a single order takes me multiple sessions just because of the pages freezing up. I've used this app for several years now, and it's always been like this, on 3 different phones and no matter what network I'm on. frustrating.

Seriously the worst shopping app for any large retailer that I (attempt to) use on an ongoing basis. It's faster to drive to HD or just open the competition's app and use it. It's been ridiculously slow, laggy, crashing, etc for years. I just do not get it - it's like they don't want me to spend money or search inventory online. Trying to use mobile web just sends you back to the crashes app.

It never lets me log in. Like it won't even accept my email alone. I have no such issues on the website. Filter is absolute garbage. I have it set to certain things and the search pulls up things that don't match. If I have the results sorted by price the app just shows them in random order. Totally useless app. Edit: no it keeps crashing with a white screen. It's 2025. Is it really THAT hard to hire someone who can create a reliable app for such a big company?!

The app is so very slow. Every time you go back to your search from looking at an item or change pages it resets the sort settings. when trying to search for a selection of colors, it filters out everything if it doesn't match all the colors in the search (and vs or). If you leave the app in the background and come back to it, it resets as well. This app definitely needs improving. The website is not any better than the app. Compared against Lowes' app, Lowes has a significantly better platform.

This is one of the worst apps that I've ever attempted to use. There isn't enough character space here to list all of the problems, but here's a quick list: Constantly freezes up (especially IN the stores), doesn't readily say if an item is "in stock" or "special order", difficult to quickly find product locations (aisle & bin #s), hard to find other store stock info without changing store preferences. I HATE THIS APP!!!
